Sebastian Hänssler explaining the sealing system engineered for Nimbus suspensions

Why We Don't Make Nimbus's Most Critical Part In-House

We make most of what goes into a Nimbus suspension in-house. But there are parts where the right answer is to go find the best people in the world for that specific thing and work with them.

Seals are exactly that.

On an oleo-pneumatic suspension, the seal is the most sensitive component you have. It keeps the whole system alive. You cannot afford to get it wrong.

That’s how we ended up working with Hänssler, a family-owned German company that has built its reputation one seal at a time, for clients whose names you know. They don’t take shortcuts. They do the work.

Pierre-Olivier visited their headquarters near the Hohenheim Circuit in Germany in April. He came back with one verdict: these are our people.

In this video, Sebastian Hänssler, CEO and chief engineer, explains what Nimbus asked for, how they approached it from scratch, and what they built: a sealing system engineered specifically for extreme conditions, up to 350 bar, all temperatures, all terrain. No catalog parts.
