Real-world feedback on Nimbus Vibranium for the INEOS Grenadier, from our friends at GrenX in Australia.
Our friends at GrenX have released their first adventure film, following Rohan and Kieran through Victoria’s High Country with the INEOS 4x4 Club.
The journey runs from Licola across Billy Goat Bluff and towards Mount Skene, through mountain forests, open ridgelines, campsites and slippery winter tracks. Australia looks beautiful throughout the entire film.
The film also gives a useful, real-world view of how Nimbus for the Grenadier behaves away from a prepared demonstration.
On a rough gravel climb, the vehicle is described as “very controlled and smooth.” They talk about carrying speed without getting rattled around, and about the confidence the suspension gives them in the car. After the first part of the trip, the verdict is wonderfully simple: “silky smooth.”
Later, on the wet and heavily potholed road towards Mount Skene, the same feeling comes through again. Where a passenger would normally tense up before an impact, the GrenX Grenadier remains composed and continues across the rough ground without shaking up the cabin.
What makes this feedback useful is its context. This is a proper trip with a convoy, changing conditions, a punctured tyre and a long way still to travel. The comments about Nimbus arrive naturally while the vehicle is doing the job.
There is one more detail worth knowing. The feedback in this film is on Nimbus Vibranium, not Erebus. GrenX has now decided to upgrade, and we will be sending our friends in Australia a set of Erebus very soon.
So, as good as the Grenadier already feels in this video, this is before Erebus. We are looking forward to hearing what the GrenX team thinks once the new suspension is fitted.
If you want to understand what Nimbus changes in a Grenadier, the film is well worth watching. And if you simply want to spend 18 minutes travelling through a beautiful part of Australia, it is worth watching for that too.
